Team rider Jordan Matthews delivered an impressive performance at Round 6 of the ACU British Extreme Enduro Championship, held at Wild Willy’s Extreme in Tong, UK, on August 16.
Competing in the Sportsman class, Jordan got off to a strong start before an incident involving his footpeg and a large rock dropped him all the way back to 17th position. From there, the comeback began. Jordan fought his way back through the field and crossed the finish in 3rd place, completing six laps with a total time of 2:15:25.50.
The result secured him a place on the Sportsman podium after what could easily have become a very different race.
“Started the race really well, got into a bit of difficulty involving my foot peg and a large rock. Fell into 17th place and managed to work my way up to 3rd.”
Going from 17th back to a podium position in an Extreme Enduro race makes the result particularly impressive.
