This weekend, Valento riders Raphael Wieser and Ronaldo Kirchweger took on the demanding Aspang Race in Austria.
It turned out to be an intense weekend filled with tough enduro, strong performances, and proof that the speed is definitely there.
Raphael takes on the elite
For Raphael, Saturday meant going up against the very best in Klasse 1 – the rock-hard field of the AspangRace Elite / Austrian Championship.
Despite this being his very first racing season, Raphael showed good pace. He completed all five laps and crossed the finish line in 58th place in the elite class with a total time of 2:48:15. He set the tone right away by clocking his fastest lap time, 19:42, on the very first lap.
Every race is an investment in the future, and gaining experience against such an accomplished field is invaluable ahead of next year.
"For my first season, I think it's okay, but I want to push even harder next season." – Raphael Wieser.
And that is exactly the plan.
Podium finish for Ronaldo!
Sunday brought the biggest highlight of the weekend for the team.
Ronaldo Kirchweger rolled up to the starting line in Klasse 3 on his Beta. After a powerhouse and well-controlled five-lap race, he crossed the finish line with a time of 2:06:44.
The result? A fantastic P3 finish at the Aspang Race!
A well-deserved podium to cap off the weekend, and further proof of the young Austrian's massive talent.
